- Teaching series have
always served as the foundation
of the EWTN programming day. Outstanding scholars, clergy and lay
people offer encouragement, information and presentations that lead the
audience to a greater love for God and appreciation of their faith.
- Mother's painting,
shows the world renowned Temple honoring the Child Jesus (Shrine of The
Most Blessed Sacrament). The potriat also manifests the power of
prayer which comes from the Poor Clare Nuns of Perpetual Adoration who
have backed up Mother's global media wor, who is seen at the
switchboard of Eternal Word Television Network with her Rosary in hand
to accomplish the beaming out on satellite dishes and shortwave radio
towers the Eternal Word to her family.
- 1995 To fully encompass
all that God has given EWTN,
the network changed its name to EWTN Global Catholic Network.
- For the first years of
its existence EWTN scheduled
its four-hour broadcast day with pre-taped and sy
ndicated programming.
Then in August of 1983 an exciting new program was introduced to the
EWTN Family. The Network launched its flagship show, “Mother Angelica
Live.”

October 4 - 8,
1995 EWTN provided
unprecedented live coverage of Papal Visit '95 in both English and
Spanish, on radio and via the Internet as the Holy Father visited the
United Nations, New York, New Jersey, and Baltimore. Television
coverage of this event could be seen in more than 20 countries and
territories representing over 100 million homes.
